Fungi Cap Shape: offset

Offset Definition

An "offset mushroom cap" refers to a mushroom cap that is positioned off-center, or not directly aligned with the stipe (stalk). This means the cap is not vertically centered above the stem, but rather positioned to one side. This offset can be noticeable in some mushroom species, like certain Pleurotus species (like oyster mushrooms), where the stipe (if present) attaches laterally to the cap, causing the cap to appear offset.
