    Plantae-ID Leaf-Shape: digitate

Digitate Definition

In botany, "digitate" describes a compound leaf where the leaflets radiate out from a central point, similar to fingers on a hand. This type of compound leaf is also known as a palmate leaf. The term "digitate" can also describe other plant structures, like the arrangement of branches on an inflorescence, where they also radiate out like fingers.
