    Plantae-ID Leaf-Shape: pinnatisect

Pinnatisect Definition

A pinnatisect leaf is a compound leaf where the lobes are cut or divided almost all the way to the midrib, but the base of the lobes (pinnae) doesn't contract to form distinct leaflets. Essentially, it's a leaf with deeply divided lobes that don't separate completely into individual leaflets.
