    Plantae-ID Leaf Shape: obovate

Obovate Definition

An obovate leaf is egg-shaped, but with the narrower end (the base) at the point where it attaches to the stem and the broader end (apex) away from the stem. It's essentially the opposite of an ovate leaf, which is egg-shaped with the broader end at the base.
